from our special day with Tony.

In loving memory

Tony 2004-2011

Fantasy Flight 2010 helping a special child in need.

On December 4, 2010 Los Angeles Fantasy Flight had their 17th annual North Pole event. We had a total of 123 children taken a flight to the Pacific Ocean for 45 minutes, but someone was missing on this flight due to illness. A seven year old boy name Tony was unable to make it due to his Radiation Treatment which is making him sick. See, Tony loves airplanes and this would have been a great treat for him, but he was too sick to make this flight a dream come true. So Fantasy Flight decided if Tony can’t come to Fantasy Flight event, we will take Fantasy Flight to his home. On December 19, 2010 the committee decided to go and see Tony so we packed some toys and a lot of love and went to Tony’s home; Santa Claus-David Tomb LAXCS, Captain Tony Lee LAXFO, Captain Roberto Calderon LAXFO, Darcy Banks LAXGQ/PV, Sherryine Cummings LAXCS, Rudy Rodriguez LAXCG and Laly Savoy UAL retiree.

We were welcomed with great gratitude and love by Tony’s parents, including Tony’s sister and Grandma.

Many gifts were given to Tony, his sister Melinda, his parent Mr. & Mrs. Liu and Grandma.

LAX Mainliner donated a 747-400 model plane for Tony as he did not own a United Airlines airplane model. He had many other planes from other airlines. The captains were very impressed to see the airplanes and books about airplanes that Tony had. He basically had an airport at his home.

Captain Calderon presented Tony with his personal 20 year anniversary pin from UAL. Tony Lee performed his amazing Magic Show. The kids were just amazed at all we had done for them and this little boy began to open up and be part of the celebration. Sister Melinda played the piano for us, she was just awesome. We are so thankful that we were able to share part of Tony’s life and to make his Christmas a little more pleasant for him and his family.

Tony was looking forward to be able to tour a 747-400 as this was his favorite aircraft and his dream. Fantasy Flight would have made this dream come true for him with the help of the captains, but so sad Tony passed away on June 8, 2011.

A note from his parents:

Dear Laly,
We would like to thank you very much for coming to Tony's memorial service. Thank you also for your team's visits of Tony in our home. Tony enjoyed your visits and the UAL Boeing-747 model airplane very much. We also appreciate your constant encouragement and support. Your encouragement, help and support have helped us greatly during this difficult time and enabled us to provide Tony with the best care. While we are deeply sadden by Tony's passing, we take great comfort in that Tony lived a happy life and was genuinely loved by many people.

Love & blessing
